Changing tyre size - Ford Fiesta
Hi, I have a ford fiesta with all tyres of size 195/50R15. I recently got a tyre fitted part worn on my rear tyre of size 185/55R15 will this be safe to drive or not. Thanks.

We recommend that you use manufacturer-approved sizes to ensure safety, and that you fit two identical tyres on the same axle. You can find out which sizes will match your Ford Fiesta by using the "search by vehicle" tab on our home page.
As well as your vehicle make and model you need to add the fuel type, specification and engine size. This will give you a list of sizes approved for your vehicle.

We would advise against using part worn tyres, as many are sold illegaly and are unsafe. You need to make sure that any part worn tyres have a tread depth of at least 1.6 mm and that they meet other legal requirements. For more information check out our article and also the TyreSafe website.
