Continental Sport Contact 3.
I'm using a pair of Continental Sport Contact 3 for the front of my Peugeot 308 and am planning to change the rear ones to Goodyear's Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2. Would there be any side effects etc. from having two set of different brands for the front and rear albeit in the same size? Thank you!

From a technical point on view it's always better to have the same tyres on all four wheels.
This being said you can also mount your tyres as you say in your question, the important aspect is to have the new tyres on the rear axle.
If you need more information about the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2 you can find it on this page.
