The new European tyre labelling regulation came into force on 1st November, 2012. Now, all tyres on sale in the EU for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles and trucks are required to display a standard label. The new label provides the consumer with information on three basic tyre performances: Fuel efficiency, wet grip and the level of external rolling noise. This legislation has a three-fold objective: Improve road safety, help consumers make more informed choices when buying tyres and reduce the environmental impact of tyres.

For 100 observed websites (step 4), the threshold set in step 5 is 20.

|Total number of data sources||Data sources with labels||Observed label value Label X||Observed label value Label Y||Observed label value Label Z|
|1||100||50||45/50||4||1||50/100 Compliance with step 5 45/50 Compliance with step 6||Display value generally observed is equal to Label X. The generally observed value is displayed since the two conditions are met.|
|2||100||18||14/18||1||1||18/100 i.e. 18% Not compliant with 20% (step 5)||The generally observed value is not displayed since the number of sources is less than 20% of the set threshold|
