1943: company founded under the name: Hirano Rubber Manufacturing Inc.
1966: Tyres sold in America.
1975: Toyo Reifen set up in Germany under a joint-venture with Mitsubishi Corporation.
At the end of March 2009, the Group’s annual sales amounted to Yen 328 billion i.e. some €2.6 billion.
In 2008, Yen 9.6 million were invested in Research & Development.
In March 2009, Toyo Tire & Rubber Co employed 3,063 people.
Toyo also manufactures truck tyres.
In addition to manufacturing tyres, the Toyo brand is an automotive part manufacturer. 26% of its annual sales come from other activities: chemicals, and automotive parts.
